Cemberlitas Hamam - Istanbul / Turkey

Çemberlitaş Hamam Quick Guide

Çemberlitaş Hamamı

Tucked away behind a very nondescript entranceway and a row of shops and kebab stands is the Çemberlitaş Hamam. You might be able to get a better view of its domes from a distance, or perhaps you’d prefer to go inside for a session in the hot room. The hamam dates back to 1584 when it was comissioned by Nurbanu Valide Sultan, wife of Sultan Selim II. Despite having lost its women’s section when the road in front expanded, the hamam is still a working public bath for both men and women, and is very welcoming to foreigners.
