Mahmut Paşa (Pasha) Hamam
Almost entirely obscured by the bustle of the surrounding market, this hamam was originally part of the Mahmut Paşa mosque complex, built around four years later in 1466. The proceeds of the hamam would traditionally have gone towards providing funds for the mosque. Enter through the main archway and you’ll find yourself in the middle of what was originally the entrance room of the men’s bath house. There, bathers would undress before going on into the cold (soğukluk) and hot (sıcaklık) rooms. Today, the hamam is home to several clothing stores.
