The Tomb of Sultan Mehmet V Quick Guide

This is the tomb of Mehmed V, the third-to-last Sultan of the Ottoman lineage who died six years before the dissolution of the sultanate and the formation of the Turkish Republic in 1918. He is also the last Sultan to have been buried on Turkish soil, and the only one to be interred here on the religious grounds of Eyüp. The tomb is contained in an octagonal building that is preceded by a small graveyard. Inside of the tomb is decorated with beautiful turquoise tiles of the İznik tradition.
